We are taking you on an incredible journey through the rich southeastern Turkey - to the area known as the former Mesopotamia! As part of our Mesopotamia package, we will visit many ancient old cities such as Şanlıurfa - "the city of the prophets", Mardin - with its unreal architecture, as well as numerous archeological sites that stand the test of time.     Day 1: Group Gathering and Departure Gathering of the group at "Nikola Tesla" Airport two hours before the flight. Flight from Belgrade at 09:20 (TK 1082) with a layover in Istanbul. Arrival in Istanbul at 12:15 local time. Connection to the flight. Flight to Mardin at 17:25 (TK 2678). Arrival in Mardin at 19:25. Transfer to accommodation. Free time. Overnight stay.

    Day 2: Optional Excursion - Tour of Mardin and the Archaeological Site of Dara Mardin is one of the oldest cities in Upper Mesopotamia, located in the southeastern region of Anatolia in Turkey. This charming city, with its beautiful architecture, diverse ethnography, archaeological wonders, historical heritage, and visual values, brings a different perspective to Turkish tourism. The day begins with an optional excursion – a tour of Mardin and the archaeological site of Dara. Narrow streets connected by stairs will take us to many unforgettable places including: the Church of the Forty Martyrs (Kirklar Kilisesi), Zinciriye Madrasa (Zinciriye Medresesi), and the Monastery of Saffron (Deyr-el-Zaferan). The journey continues to the archaeological site of Dara, also known as Little Cappadocia.

    It is one of the most famous ancient cities of Upper Mesopotamia. Here we will have the opportunity to see the remains of an ancient aqueduct, churches, palaces, and rooms where water and provisions were stored during the Roman period. We listen to stories about the unusual relief and the interweaving of civilizations in this area, which has given a specific character to the city's architecture. Return to accommodation.     Day 3: Optional Excursion - Tour of Gobeklitepe and Sanliurfa "City of the Prophet" Check-out from the accommodation. We embark on an optional excursion – Tour of Gobeklitepe and Sanliurfa "City of the Prophet". Our journey takes us to the oldest religious structure and at the same time the oldest example of monumental architecture on earth – Gobeklitepe, built around 10,000 BC. Since 2018, it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The pillars in the temple are in the shape of the letter "T", with heights ranging from three to six meters. They are adorned with mystical reliefs of animals and abstract symbols. We then continue to Sanliurfa. As one of the oldest settlements in southeastern Turkey (northern Mesopotamia), Urfa has retained its significance as a stronghold of various civilizations and religions. We visit: Golbasi Park where the Balikli Gol – "Lake of Fish" is located, the Mosque of Halil ur Rahman, as well as the birthplace of the Prophet Abraham and the local bazaar with spices, utensils, authentic scarves, etc. Transfer to accommodation in Sanliurfa. Overnight stay.

    Day 4: Optional Excursion - Tour of Harran and Traditional Turkish Evening The day starts with an optional excursion – Tour of Harran. The ancient city of Harran (Harran) – once a major trading, cultural, scientific, and religious center. In the early Christian period, it was called Helenopolis, which translates to "Greek city". Today, Harran is better known for its unusual village houses made of baked mud in the shape of beehives, rather than as the place where the Prophet Abraham lived for several years. Here we will see the remains of the oldest Arab university in the world. The gathering continues with an optional excursion – a traditional Turkish evening, where we will enjoy the tastes and sounds of Turkey. Return to accommodation. Overnight stay.

    Day 5: Optional Excursion – Tour of Adiyaman and Surroundings and the Ancient City of Pirin/Perre Transfer to Adiyaman (Adiyaman). After settling into rooms, we set out on an optional excursion – a visit to Mount Nemrut. Nemrut is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is famous for the tomb-sanctuary of the famous King Antiochus, considered one of the most skillful constructions of the Hellenistic period, built in the 1st century BC. The mountain itself is known for its statues of lions, eagles, Zeus, and Hercules, as well as Antiochus himself, surrounding the tomb-sanctuary. In addition, as the highest point in the region at an altitude of 2134 m, Nemrut offers spectacular viewpoints and the enjoyment of the most beautiful sunsets. We will also have the opportunity to see the Roman Bridge, which is still functional today, as well as the ancient Arsemia (Arsameia of Nymphaios) – the former center of the Kingdom of Commagene. Return to Adiyaman. Overnight stay.

    Day 6: Optional Excursion - Cruise on the Euphrates and Tour of Gaziantep Check-out from accommodation. We embark on an optional excursion – a cruise on the Euphrates in the district of Halfeti. Halfeti is a district of the province of Sanliurfa. It is one of the most unusual sites in Turkey, as part of the old town was partially submerged after the construction of a dam. Although part of Halfeti is underwater, it has a very rich cultural heritage. Halfeti is also known for a special type of rose – the black rose, also known as the "weeping Arab woman" rose. It blooms in spring and autumn. We continue our journey to Gaziantep (Gaziantep). Optional excursion – a tour of Gaziantep. Gaziantep is known as the capital of food and gastronomy, and it is on the UNESCO list as a city of gastronomy. We visit the Zeugma Museum – the largest mosaic museum in the world, then we continue to the Citadel (Kale) from the 12th and 13th centuries located on the Tell Halaf hill where we will see the remains of the former Byzantine fortress from the period

    of Emperor Justinian. From there, we go to the coppersmiths' bazaar – Gumruk Han and end the tour by visiting one of the 180 baklava shops, trying Turkish tea and the best baklava in the world. Accommodation in a hotel in Gaziantep. Overnight stay.

    Day 7: Return and End of the Journey Check-out from accommodation and transfer to the airport. Flight from Gaziantep at 15:05 (TK 2223) with a layover in Istanbul. Arrival in Istanbul at 17:00. Connection to the flight. Flight to Belgrade at 18:45 (TK 1083). Arrival in Belgrade at 19:30. End of the journey.
